Programs

Financial Education Program

The financial education program is a credit, and financial nonprofit program ran by the Administrator April Ferguson. The program was created to educate individuals on the importance of budgeting and credit. Each group home child will have the opportunity to participate in the program’s workshops, seminars, and class training sessions to develop their financial skills to prepare them for financial stability in their adult life.

Volunteer Program

Each group home child will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer services with the local community. Volunteer services include serving food, participating in marathons, and holiday gifts and food delivery.

Mentoring Program

We facilitate finding a mentor, business owner, volunteer in the child’s field of interest that the child can shadow over a period of 6 months to a year to determine if they are interested in a career.

Total Life Wellness Program

Our workshop provides professional participants for our youth with the necessary skills to help each child make responsible decisions about their overall health. Every facet of health is explored and enhanced; mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

  • Disease prevention
  • Healthy Eating Nutrition
  • Spiritual & Mental Well Being
  • Dental Health
  • Vision Health

Weekly Therapy

We partner with licensed professions who provide inhouse counseling sessions for each child placed in our care.  Sessions include assessments, individual counseling, group therapy, and opportunities to interact with emotional support animals.

Education Programs

L Strong works with Cincinnati Public Schools to give children the opportunity to recover school credits to be placed in their correct grade.  We also encourage after-school program participation and the opportunity to play school sports.

Independent Living Support

Our independent support consists of hands-on training with tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, completing application paperwork, and scheduling appointments. Older children have the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license. Additionally, those youth who have shown themselves to be good students and good citizens will have their first car purchased through the same program upon emancipation.  Children who will be emancipated will also receive support from L Strong with securing housing, jobs, and post education programs.

We are happy to announce we have youth who have successfully completed our independent living program with a vehicle, certification as a phlebotomist, and a 780 credit score.
